Frankie Muniz Racinglace the PCB blank on top the exit sign for reference and sketch out the locations of the LEDs in permanent marker on the bare copper --- yo u'll want one LED to sit behind the center of each letter in the sign. At each location, draw two small dots about 1/8 inch apart to create a line of 8 holes, in 4 pairs --- this will be the shape of your LED array. Draw 2 additional dots near 1 edge of the PCB (this will allow y ou to connect a 12-volt power source). 3 Drill a 1/32-inch hole directly in the center of each dot --- 10 in total. 4 Draw the PCB traces in icons thick permanent marker directly on the copper backing of the PCB blank. You will need to draw 5 traces in total: 3 to connect the 4 pairs o f holes together (draw a trace between the 2 closest holes for each pair) and 2 to connect the remaining untraced holes in the LED array wit Frankie Muniz Racing h the holes you drilled at the edge of the PCB --- one for each hole. Do not allow the traces to cross. 5 Retrace the lines you made and, wh . races you drew in permanent marker. 6 Turn the PCB over and slide one LED into each pair of holes, pressing it down until the LED is flush w ith the back of the PCB. Arrange them in series so that the short leg of each LED is closest to the long leg of the LED next to it. 7 Flip t he PCB right side up again so that the legs of the LEDs and the copper traces are accessible. Use the soldering iron to solder the LED legs directly to the PCB so that the legs are connected to the copper traces --- use sparing amounts of solder so that you don't accidentally sho proposal template rt the traces. Snip the legs of the LEDs with wire cutters. 8 Take the coarse-grit sandpaper and use it to sand the tops of the LEDs flat -- - don't sand more than is necessary and don't make them too smooth. Sanding the tops of the LEDs helps to diffuse the light being emitted, s Frankie Muniz Racing ince LEDs generally have a narrow visible angle. 9 Place the finished PCB back in the plastic exit sign shell. All you have to do now is con . ter and thumb fingers of the other hand. This should hide one end of the rubber band in the palm of your hand. 3 Raise the hand that is hold ing the end of the band up. 4 Stretch the rubber band to make a ramp that is between 10 and 12 inches long. This ramp will be for the ring t o climb. Tell the audience that you are putting all of your energy into moving the ring. Keep the ring on the bottom of your hand while pret ending to focus. 5 Relax the grip of your lower hand fingers while feeding the slack band through your fingers. Do this very slowly. 6 Ensur best free books e that your hands stay the same space apart so that the rubber band will remain the same length. The ring will float and climb to the higher hand as the slack goes through.
